2018! Chungdong English Ministry's Winter Retreat

What a way to end 2018! EM's Winter Retreat, held at Chungdong Retreat Center on December 28 and 29 exceeded all expectations. It was indeed a time of spiritual pondering, growing deeper and going away with much food for thought. Dr. So Bean, well-known artist and arts therapist, presented a healing workshop using flowers and plants, first in groups and then individually. Dr. Malte Rhinow presented thought provoking talks on Luther's spirituality and Lutheran spiritually followed by sessions of deep personal contemplation and meditation. Rev. Sehyoung Lee opened the retreat with a sermon on Following Jesus, while Rev. Johan Reiners served Holy Communion with a meditation on Being Present in the Presence. Rev. ChongAh Sandra Kim closed the evening session with a homily on Another Year of Grace after which people were anointed with oil and prayed for. Rev. Heasun Kim closed the retreat with a call for reflection on the year passed and what we have learned during the retreat. (written by EM staff)
